As we sat down for the first committee meeting for 2022 last night we all said "Wow - did we miss a COVID super spreading bullet or what?"
Both the AGM and Love Actually were big hits with our audience and very memorable and we were indeed fortunate not to be featured with some other Willunga establishments on the 6 o'clock news!
We're always up for a bit of shenanigans - it's in our Cinemallunga Constitution. However, due to the current and on-going COVID situation that really kicked off again mid-December we are prudently putting our planned February show, Chicago, on hold until April. Plus we have some great movies planned for June, August and October. So check back or follow us on the socials or look out for some Cinemallunga email in the first week of March 2022.

Stokes Bay Community Hall destroyed by fire 4 January 2020.
Stokes Bay Community Hall Donation We would like to provide you with an update regarding the proceeds from our last pre-COVID movie, Bohemian Rhapsody in February 2020. Wow what a fab night!
Your committee unanimously agreed to donate the $6,000 profit from the night to help with the rebuild of the 60 year old Stokes Bay Hall, Kangaroo Island, that was destroyed in the bushfire. We chose this place, as like our hall, it is a place where the local community can come together to have fun, sing, create, play, share, and learn. We hope to one day see the Stokes Bay Hall packed with smiling faces and to share one of our unique Cinemallunga experiences with them. In 2019 the Stokes Bay Fireworks held at the hall was recognised as the KI Community Event of the Year. In November part of the hall was renovated with a new kitchen and after only one event was completely destroyed in the horrific bushfire on January 4. A number of our local CFS volunteers spent many days and nights on the fire ground. So the loss of their hall really did hit home with us.
At this time we hope you all stay safe and healthy and we at Cinemallunga will be back stronger and better than ever after what we hope is a short hibernation! ❤️ Cinemallunga
