Cinemallunga is a not-for-profit community group of mad keen movie buffs who love fun just as much as they love film.
It all started back in 2012 when a group of friends got together to show films in the historic Willunga Show Hall. But alas! The roof was leaky and needed fixing and so began a quest worthy of a holy grail to raise enough money to fix it.
Twelve years and 68 films later, the roof was fixed long ago, and now the money raised from the fabulous mix of food, dress-ups, audience participation, dancing, live music, food and wine that is Cinemallunga, now goes to deserving charities.
Every film starts, yes starts with a packed dance floor of local citizens who can't wait to get in to shake their booty to local music acts. Dressing up in the theme of the movie is very much encouraged - there are prizes - and in intermission there is invariably a catwalk showing off the fabulous get-ups - many purchased and styled from the local Save the Children op shop.
And it's not Cinemallunga without some "Shenanigans", whether it's a skit by the local Bowling Club, a bust by the local "police", a sing-a-long, a Mexican Hat Dance lesson for the audience, a Bollywood flash mob or a choir of Monty Python fanatics, Cinemallunga is all about community participation with maximum FUN.
Run by a core group of dedicated committee members, Cinemallunga won the City of Onkaparinga Australia Day Award for Best Community Event in 2019. No surprises there. Scroll below for all of the films we've had the pleasure to screen over the past 12 years .

A Really Hard Day's Night - Zoom to Cinemallunga
On Saturday 18th April 2020, in lieu of our previously scheduled movie event, "A Hard Days Night" some Cinemallunga got together for a zoom party over the Internet. We think it was a success and we had quite a lot of fun and laughter. There was singing, poetry, magic, and music. Plus plenty of mayhem.
Like a great vintage, we are all very hopeful that with patience - we will come back bigger and better than ever after a bit more time in the cask.
